IV Therapy Q&A

What is IV therapy?

Intravenous (IV) therapy is a wellness procedure that utilizes an intravenous drip to deliver nutrients right into your bloodstream. Because of this efficient process, you can enjoy the benefits as soon as possible after your treatment.

Nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants are present in many of the foods you eat, and you can take them by mouth with oral supplements. However, you don’t absorb as many of them when they travel through your digestive system. IV therapy allows for full absorption and helps you feel better almost immediately.

IV therapy is also advantageous over other wellness options because there is no downtime, no side effects, and the treatment only takes 30-45 minutes of your day.

What are my options for IV therapy?

Valley Spinal Care offers several IV blends. Each has a unique set of benefits based on the nutrients it contains. Your options include:

Myers’ cocktail $175

Myers’ cocktail is a well-known and widely used blend for IV therapy. It contains magnesium, calcium, vitamin B complex, B12, and vitamin C. You can also add glutathione, which is an antioxidant, or zinc for immunity.

Flu be gone $175

Flu be gone isn’t a cure for the flu, but it can reduce your symptoms and help you get over the illness faster than you would otherwise. It contains all of the vitamins and minerals needed to help you immune system fight off illness.

Hangover cure $150

  • Alpha-Lipoic Acid: can be added on or its own infusion to help with nerve pain $25-175

NAD+ (Nicontinamide Adeine Dinculeotide)

What is it?

NAD is a coenzyme that is associated with metabolism. This specific coenzyme maintains energy levels and helps maintain the health of the mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cell. Due to its metabolic productivity, it helps maintain the cell contributing to anti-aging, and overall energy levels, and can improve neurodegenerative disorders.

NAD is beneficial for a variety of people with an array of chronic conditions. The benefits of NAD therapy include metabolic efficiency, tissue repair, cognitive function, and anti-aging. It is also helpful with migraines, depression, sleep disorders, and neurodegenerative disorders.

How is it administered?

There are three options for NAD therapy. It can be given as its own infusion or added into another IV infusion at a smaller dose.

The first two options are NAD as its own infusion.

A half dose is 250mg and takes about two hours to infuse. It is $250.

A full dose is 500mg and takes about four hours to infuse. It is $500.

As mentioned above, it can also be added to other IV cocktails as a booster. You have the option of 50mg for $50 or 100mg for $100.

Phosphatidylcholine (PC)

A phospholipid is involved in the making of cell membranes. It is also a precursor to an essential brain neurotransmitter, acetylcholine. As people age or become ill, phospholipids become damaged or are replaced with other lipids that are not as beneficial. The lipid layer is also a huge trap for toxins. These toxins can impact the cell membrane, mitochondrial function, and cellular communication.

Phosphatidylcholine is beneficial to many chronic illnesses including vascular disease, liver disease, autoimmune disease, migraines, neurodegenerative disorders, and more.

What is it?

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is the most abundant phospholipid in the body. Phospholipids are a type of lipid molecule that is the main component of the cell membrane. Each phospholipid is made up of two fatty acids, this creates a double layer that encapsulates every cell in the body.

When PC is introduced into the cell membrane, it improves the integrity of the cell and helps increase the transportation of nutrients while also exporting the toxins across the cell membrane.

Phosphatidylcholine is a great source of choline which is the main component used to produce the memory-enhancing neurotransmitter, acetylcholine. Due to this, PC is helpful in neurologic conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS, Alzheimer’s, anxiety, and more.

How is it administered?

It is usually infused over two hours via an IV. The recommended course is 1-2 times a week for a minimum of 10 treatments. The dosage starts at 350mg and can increase to 1,20mg per infusion. Each infusion is $250 regardless of the dosage.

Who can benefit?

Poor membrane health is associated with chronic illness. Therefore, conditions such as vascular disease, high cholesterol, liver disease, autoimmune disease, mood disorders, migraines, and neurodegenerative disorders are ideal candidates for PC therapy.

The replenishing of healthy phospholipids into the cell membranes can help improve overall cell function, repair tight junctions in the intestinal lining, and improve the transport of nutrients into the cell. It can also help export common toxins such as heavy metals, mold, organic pollutants, and other chemicals.
